Police Commissioner Mike Bush said local police had committed “some absolutely acts of bravery” to arrest the four people in Christchurch. Officers would have immediate access to firearms, he said.
“We are not aware of other people, but we cannot assumed there are not others at large.”
Several improvised explosive devices had been in several vehicles around the city. NZ Defence Force staff had immobilised them, Bush said.
