Army Court Sentences Faiz Hameed to 14 Years of Imprisonment

The Field General Court Martial (FGCM) has sentenced former DG ISI Faiz Hameed to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Thursday.
The Court Martial proceedings against former Lieutenant General ISI Faiz Hameed began on 12 August 2024 and continued for nearly 15 months.
During the trial, the accused faced four serious charges, including involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing unlawful financial loss to individuals. All charges were proven during the Court Martial proceedings.
The military court declared that violations of the Official Secrets Act were damaging to national security, while political involvement and misuse of authority constituted serious misconduct.
The 14-year imprisonment sentence was formally enforced on 11 December 2025.
According to ISPR, the military court completed the proceedings strictly in accordance with all legal requirements. The accused was also provided full opportunity to engage a defence team of his choice.
The ISPR further stated that the convicted individual retains the right to appeal before the relevant forum. Other aspects related to political instability and alleged malicious activities are being examined separately.
