Asad Umer inaugurates ExxonMobile office in Islamabad
1 min readISLAMABAD: ExxonMobil said Wednesday that it has opened an office in Islamabad to support its business ventures progressing in Pakistan.
Finance Minister Asad Omar, Minister of Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Minister of Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi and representatives from ExxonMobil attended a ceremonial event to open the office of newly formed affiliate ExxonMobil Pakistan (Private) Limited, located in the Serena Business Center in Islamabad.
“Pakistan is an important market for ExxonMobil,” said Emma Cochrane, Chairwoman of ExxonMobil LNG Global Market Development Inc. “The country has growing energy demand and government support for increasing natural gas supply and developing domestic energy to continue economic progress.”
“We appreciate the support we’ve received from the government of Pakistan, including the office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Maritime Affairs as well as from our business partners in Pakistan, and look forward to progressing mutually beneficial business ventures in the country,” Cochrane said.
ExxonMobil recently signed a heads of agreement with Pakistani consortium Energas to support the development of Pakistan’s third LNG import terminal and bring new supplies of LNG to Pakistan.
The company has also entered into a Cooperation Agreement with Universal Gas Distribution Company to help stimulate the compressed natural gas (CNG) sector in Pakistan and work together to supply LNG to the country. Additionally, EmonMobil is also working with venture partners on exploration activities in Block G located offshore Pakistan.
