Federal Cabinet approves summary to appoint Nausheen Javed as new chief FBR

KARACHI: The federal cabinet on Monday approved the summary to appoint Nausheen Javed as new chief of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Earlier on April 3, the Cabinet Secretariat has finally approved the summary for the appointment of Ms Nausheen Javed Amjad as Chairwoman Federal Board of Revenue. She was already performing duties as Acting Chairwoman of the FBR after resignation of the Shabbar Zaidi.
The appointment of new chief FBR has been made through a circulation of a summary.
The establishment division, in its summary to the cabinet division for the approval of acting chief of FBR, who is also presently posted as member (Admn), recommended that she may be transferred and appointed/posted as chairperson, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) with immediate effect.
The Establishment Division also proposed to terminate the services of Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi with immediate effect. Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi was appointed as Chairman FBR for a period of two years through a notification dated May 9, 2019.
