FIA allows to go Anwar Majeed’s son Nimr
1 min readKARACHI: After necessary investigation with Nimr son of Anwar Majeed, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday released him. The FIA arrested him from outside the Supreme Court’s Karachi’s registry.
“Nimr has been released on court orders. We had detained Nimr for questioning,” said FIA officer. The court has given him time to appear before the court on Tuesday,” FIA official added.
The FIA had arrested Nimr after the court had resumed hearing of the mega money laundering and fake bank accounts case. During the hearing, the court rejected Anwar Majeed’s request for B-class facility in prison and summoned records of Omni Group from the FIA.
During the court proceedings, the FIA had arrested Anwar Majeed’s son Nimr Majeed from outside the Karachi Registry’s premises.
According to FIA officials, Nimr is wanted in 11 FIRs and is accused of hiding away Rs11 billion worth of sugar taken under guarantee.
