First NAB reference against Zardari and others filed in accountability court

ISLAMABAD: The first National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference in fake accounts case was filed on Wednesday in an accountability court of Islamabad.
Nine Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) officials including former administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed have been nominated in the reference.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari’s close companion Younas Kidwai is also amongst the list of the accused.
The National Accountability Bureau claimed that the suspects illegally allotted plots owned by a library and temple, and the anti-corruption watchdog has solid evidences.
The registrar has forwarded the reference – demanding indictment – to Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir.
