Hamza Shehbaz granted protective bail in Saaf Pani Company case

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday accepted Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz’s plea for protective bail.
A two-judge bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi heard the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader’s plea in which he had stated that he feared that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will arrest him.
Accepting Hamza’s plea, the court granted him protective bail till November 13 and ordered that the PML-N leader not be arrested till the next hearing.
The bench also issued a notice to the accountability watchdog and summoned a reply on Hamza’s plea.
Earlier this year, NAB had summoned Hamza in connection to the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
Hamza’s father and PML-N president, Shehbaz Sharif, has been in NAB’s custody since October 5 in connection to the Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme case.
