Immigration facility for Haj: Saudi team to inspect Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad Airports on April 1
1 min readKARACHI: A high power Saudi delegation will arrive Pakistan on April 1 to inspect the immigration arrangements at the Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad Airports for Pakistani Hajjaj. The team will give final approval of the immigration at the airports.
The Saudi Arab government has included Pakistan in its ‘Road to Makkah’ project, allowing pilgrims to undergo immigration clearance at Pakistani airports before leaving for Haj.
The government of Saudi Arab has accepted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s request and also decided to provide e-visa facility to Pakistani pilgrims. Now intending pilgrims will be provided visas at their doorstep and their immigration process would be completed at Karachi and Islamabad Airports, the aviation sources said.
They further claimed that initially this facility would be given to pilgrims at the Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore airports and later it could be expended from other airports like Quetta and Multan etc.
The Saudi government had already decided to increase the Haj quota for Pakistani pilgrims to 200,000 from an existing 184,210 pilgrims.
