Over 9500 students get admissions in various departments of KU for academic session 2020
2 min readAs many as 9, 534 students have received admission in various departments of the University of Karachi. These admissions have been given in the morning (bachelors and masters) program for the academic session of 2020.
Out of total 9, 534 admissions, 1, 633 admissions were granted on entry test based seats while 4, 455 admissions were given on open merit seats in various bachelors program whereas 2, 258 admissions were received on the open merit seats of masters program and 317 admissions were obtained through entry test base.
Meanwhile, 525 admissions have been given in Pharm-D (morning and evening) while 201 admissions were granted in BA/LLB five year program and 145 admissions in Visual Studies.
The Karachi University has established 20 special counters in the gymnasium to facilitate the students and their parents. These counters are not only collecting forms and fees but also informing and educating the students and parents about the process of submission of fees and forms.
These views were expressed by the in-charge, Directorate of Admissions, University of Karachi, Dr Saima Akhtar, on Wednesday. She visited the gymnasium and met the students and parents at the counters.
She shared that 20 teachers from different departments and 30 non-teaching staff remain in the gymnasium to facilitate the students and special help camp is also set-up in the gymnasium where students and parents would get answers to their queries.
Dr Saima Akhtar mentioned that the scholarship desk for need base students is also there. The Higher Education Commission has recommended such scholarship programs for the students.
She informed that candidates have to bring their forms at the counters at gymnasium so that staff present there could rectify the mistakes, if there is any, before collecting the forms and fees.
She mentioned that no other bank other than KU UBL Branch has been authorized to collect the form and fees from the candidates till December 13, 2019.
