Pakistan to host two-day Int’l Afghan refugees conference on Feb 17-18
1 min readISLAMABAD: Foreign Office announced on Sunday that Pakistan will host a two-day conference on Afghan refugees to be held on February 17-18 in Islamabad.
According to the statement, conference will reflect on the lessons learned; identify the challenges; and discuss solutions for voluntary, dignified and sustainable repatriation of refugees to Afghanistan. This Conference is taking place at a time when efforts at consolidating peace in Afghanistan are making progress.
Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), is convening the international conference to mark 40 years of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the World Conference. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, ministers and senior officials from around 20 countries, senior level officials from the United Nations, multilateral developments banks, civil society and private sector would be participating in the conference.
