Pakistan’s trade deficit declines by 28% to $13.751bn in last seven months
1 min readKARACHI: Pakistan’s trade deficit declined by 28 per cent to $13.751 billion in July-January of current fiscal year 2019-20, said Federal Bureau of Statistic (FBS) data here on Friday. Last year, the trade deficit was stood at $19.204 billion in the same period last year.
The market analysts said that the drop is only because of declining imports and slight surged in export.
The export volume touched $13.498 billion recording an increase of 2 per cent in last seven month. Meanwhile the import stood at $27.249 billion in seven month compared to $32.420 billion in the same period last year.
According to the latest data issued by the PBS, the export of the country in January 2020 remained at $1.970 compared to $2.035 in January 2019. Meanwhile it declined by 1 per cent compared to $1.992 in December 2019.
