PIA CEO announces to cut 8 – 20% salaries of PIA employees
1 min readKARACHI: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Arshad Malik on Friday announced to cut 8 – 20 per cent salaries of PIA’s employees as the Airline is going through a tough time.
Owing to the coronavirus (COVID-19), PIA is facing financial difficulties now and the decision has been taken by the management of airline to cut the salaries of its employees from 8 per cent to 20 per cent to save the national flag carrier.
According to the spokesman of the PIAL, heads of the departments and general managers of the airlines have voluntary permitted to deduct 20 per cent and 15 per cent salaries respectively.
Similarly, the airline will deduct salaries of deputy general managers by 10 per cent and managers 8 per cent, the spokesman added.
This decision by the PIA’s chief will help ease the financial burden on the airline during this difficult times, PIA spokesman said.
