PIA flight PK-702 delayed as a passenger opens emergency door
1 min readKARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-702 for Manchester to Islamabad was delayed by 7 hours. The delay in the departure occurred on Friday night at Manchester airport when a passenger erroneously opened the emergency door causing the emergency slide to activate, a PIA’s statement said.
The flight operated with a delay of 7 hours . As per standard operating procedure PIA had to offload nearly 40 passengers and their luggage.
All passengers were provided dinner. The off-loaded passengers were provided transportation and hotel accommodation and will be adjusted on the next available flight.
The flight operated with multiple crew and there was no shortage of crew and was as per Paksitan Civil Aviation Authority regulations, it added.
CEO PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik has ordered an inquiry of the incident. PIA regrets the inconvenience caused to its passengers due to this incident. PIA spokesman concluded.
