Ten killed including four terrorists, several injured as armed men storm PSX building in Karachi
2 min readKARACHI: All the four terrorists were killed before entering into the Pakistan Stock Exchange Building at I.I Chundrigar Road, while a policeman, four security guard and a civilian reportedly killed during resistance.
According to reports, four militants have stormed the PSX building and opened indiscriminate fire on resistance from the security guards. Police and Rangers reached the spot and take over the control of the building.
Police said, “all the four terrorists have been killed. Militants launched a grenade attack at the main gate of the building and stormed the building after firing indiscriminately.” LEAs have seized AK-47 rifles, hand grenades, magazines and other explosive material from the attackers.
A police officer and the security guard stationed outside the PSX building were among the wounded and were shifted to hospital. The surrounding areas have been sealed by police and Rangers personnel.
The injured are being shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. People inside the PSX building are being evacuated from the backdoor.
“An unfortunate incident took place at the Pakistan Stock Exchange,” said Abid Ali Habib, Director Pakistan Stock Exchange to a media group. “They made their way from our parking area and opened fire on everyone.”
He said that the militants had stormed the Railway Ground parking area and fired outside the ground of the PSX. Habib said that the firing by militants caused panic among the people in the building.
Farrukh Khan, Managing Director Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) told media that the trading at the stock market continued without any break. He declared the attack on the PSX building.
