ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Armed Forces have successfully concluded Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 in Balochistan, killing 216 terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the ISPR, the operation was launched to counter terrorist elements seeking to destabilize peace and development in the province by targeting innocent civilians, including women and children. The military stated that the terrorists were operating as part of externally sponsored proxy networks.

Operations began on 29 January 2026 in Panjgur and the outskirts of Harnai District after credible and verified intelligence confirmed the presence of terrorist hideouts posing an imminent threat to the local population.

During the initial phase, security forces conducted targeted raids on identified locations, resulting in the elimination of 41 terrorists affiliated with Indian-sponsored proxy groups.

Following this, security forces responded decisively to what the ISPR described as desperate attempts by Fitna al Hindustan to disrupt stability in Balochistan. A broader series of intelligence-driven operations was subsequently launched across multiple areas, focusing on dismantling terrorist sleeper cells through sustained combing and sanitization efforts.

The ISPR said that through meticulous planning, actionable intelligence, and seamless coordination between the Pakistan Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Intelligence Agencies, the operation achieved significant success.

As a result of coordinated engagements and follow-up clearance operations, a total of 216 terrorists were killed, dealing a major blow to their leadership, command-and-control structures, and operational capabilities.

During the operation, security forces also recovered a substantial cache of foreign-origin weapons, ammunition, explosives, and equipment. Preliminary analysis indicates systematic external facilitation and logistical support provided to these extremist elements.

However, the operation also witnessed tragic losses. According to the ISPR, 36 innocent civilians, including women and children, lost their lives, while 22 personnel from the Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while defending Pakistan’s territorial integrity and protecting its citizens.

The ISPR paid tribute to the fallen personnel, stating that their courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment reflect the highest traditions of service. The nation, it said, stands in solidarity with the families of all martyrs.

Reaffirming its resolve, the Pakistan Armed Forces said counter-terrorism operations will continue under the ambit of the National Action Plan (NAP) until the complete elimination of terrorist threats from the country. The ISPR concluded that Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 stands as a testament to Pakistan’s resolve—particularly that of the people of Balochistan—to prioritize peace over violence, unity over division, and development over instability.
