Maulana Samiul Haq assassinated in Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: Senior religious scholar and chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Maulana Samiul Haq was assassinated in a targeted knife attack in Rawalpindi on Friday.

The family member of the religious scholars Moulana Samiul Haq confirmed the news of his death and the incident took place at his home. Moulana Samiul was around 83 year old politician and Islamic teacher

As per the details, Maulana Samiul Haq sustained injuries in a targeted attack at his house in a private housing society in Rawalpindi’s Gulraiz area. He was immediately shifted to local hospital for medical assistance where he succumbed to his wounds.

According to his son, he was trying to reach the protest in Islamabad but came back home due to roads blocked.
