Pak Suzuki to launch Alto 2019 in Q1 of 2019 in Pakistan
2 min readKARACHI: Pak Suzuki will launch its new vehicle Suzuki Alto 2019 with a 660cc engine in the first quarter 2019, the inside sources said.
Pak Suzuki has finally decided to discontinue its Mehran by March 2019, a vendor said, adding that the company has requested its vendors to curb the production of parts according to company’s production plan for Mehran.
The company has also decided that Mehran 800cc would be replaced with new hatchback 660cc car, which was already very popular in Pakistan in 1992 and after it. Under the yellow cab scheme, Suzuki Company had sent thousands of Japan-made Alto 600cc cars to Pakistan.
However, the sources said that there will be a total three variants of the car, two manual variants and one fully loaded automatic variant. The high special manual and fully loaded auto variant will come with a power steering. The engine will be imported, but the transmission has been developed locally.
The sources suggest it will be the same manual transmission that is available in the current locally assembled Suzuki Wagon R.
Pak Suzuki is expected to announce the car soon in coming months and deliveries might start as soon as March 2019.
According to the sources, Suzuki has already developed around 25 units of the new Alto 2019 for testing, while other 20 to 25 units are being assembled for display purposes.
The manual base model will be for around Rs 800,000 whereas the top of the line auto 2019 Alto will be priced somewhere around a million mark. The price bracket of Alto 2019 also puts a huge question mark on the pricing strategy as well as the future of United Bravo as well.
