Blast outside DC office Quetta: Two killed, three injured

KARACHI:  Two persons were killed and three others received injuries in an explosion outside Deputy Commissioner’s office on Anscomb Road in Quetta, the policemen and rescue workers at the scene said Friday.

According to media reports , one injured was said to be in a critical condition. According to witnesses, the explosion took place inside a truck parked near the DC office.

The witnesses said a Kashmir Day rally of a religious group near the explosion site could be the target of the blast.

The Bomb Disposal Squad has reached the scene to ascertain the nature of blast but the policemen said they believe it was a planted device that exploded.

Earlier in the day, 16 people were injured in a grenade attack on Sibi’s Chakar Road. The police and Rangers have cordoned off the area.

Meanwhile, Civil Hospital Quetta Medical Superintendent Dr Rabb said two bodies from the site and four injured individuals were brought to the facility.
