Soldier martyred in unprovoked Indian firing along LoC

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in unprovoked firing from Indian troops on the Line of Control (LoC), said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) on Thursday.
Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed was martyred in the Thub sector of the LoC. He belonged to village Sultan Pur in Bhimber district and is survived by a widow.
The military’s media wing added that Pakistan Army troops “retaliated effectively and engaged enemy’s posts involved in the unprovoked firing.”
On October 11, Indian occupation forces martyred a Kashmiri freedom fighter who became a folk hero in the occupied territory after giving up geology research at an Indian university to take up arms, officials said.
Manan Wani, 26, and an associate were martyred in a fierce gunfight that lasted more than 10 hours after Indian occupation forces were tipped off that he was hiding in a residential area, officials told AFP in condition of anonymity.
In September, family members of a martyred youth said that Indian forces torched their house in Pulwama district of occupied Kashmir.
