Pakistan also receives 3rd tranche of $1bn from Saudi Arabia under support package

KARACHI: Pakistan also received 3rd tranche of $1 billion from the Saudi Arabia on Friday, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) tweeted. The SBP had already received two tranches of the financial bailout package from Saudia.
The central bank has received the first installment of $1 billion loan package from United Arab Emirates on Thursday night, confirmed the SBP officials said. The country will receive another $2 billion in two separate instalments.
With the addition of a billion dollar in the exchequer, the country’s reserves have appreciated to $15.257 billion including the reserves held by country’s banks.
Earlier, Pakistan and the UAE signed a support package, as pledged by Abu Dhabi to boost the liquidity and foreign exchange reserves of the cash-starved country.
