Neha Bora Released, CJP’s Dipke Under Preventive Arrest
NEW DELHI: Neha Bora, president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), has been released from detention, while Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke remains under preventive arrest amid protests in the Indian capital.
According to police, Dipke was served two notices directing him not to visit Central Park in Connaught Place but allegedly failed to comply. His detention was linked to concerns over a possible breach of peace.
Police are also expected to inform the magistrate that Dipke allegedly violated the conditions of a peace bond furnished during an earlier preventive arrest. He had reportedly submitted a bond of Rs50,000 and undertaken not to disturb public peace for one year.

CJP Questions Dipke’s Detention:
CJP alleged that Delhi Police took Dipke to an undisclosed location and that the party had lost contact with him. It also claimed that he was not being allowed to speak to lawyers.
“The Delhi Police has taken Abhijeet Dipke to an undisclosed location. We have lost contact with him. He is not being allowed to talk to lawyers,” the party said in a post on X.
The party questioned the grounds for his detention, arguing that Dipke had been carrying the Indian national flag when he left his residence.
“Abhijeet was just walking out of his home with a Tiranga in his hand! How can walking with a tiranga be a crime?” CJP said, adding that the detentions would not deter people from joining the protests.
CJP leader Rohan Deshpande also wrote to the station house officer of Delhi’s Mandir Marg police station, seeking details about Dipke’s whereabouts and the legal grounds for his detention.
In the letter, Deshpande said the party had not been informed which police station or facility was holding its founder.
He urged the police to disclose Dipke’s location, the legal provisions invoked against him, the grounds for his preventive detention and the authority that ordered the action. He also called for ensuring Dipke’s access to colleagues and legal counsel.
Neha Was Moved Between Locations
AISA earlier said it had traced Bora to the RK Puram police station after hours of uncertainty about her whereabouts. However, the student organisation alleged that police had moved her between different locations across Delhi for nearly five hours.
AISA said lawyers who reached the police station around midnight were denied access to Bora. It also alleged that police had not clarified the grounds for her detention or when she would be released.
The organisation further claimed that Bora had been unwell for several days and that police were not allowing lawyers to meet her or medication to be provided.
“The police is not allowing lawyers to meet Neha at RK Puram. They are not allowing medication to be given too,” AISA said in a post on X, demanding clarification about the charges against her.
Her whereabouts had remained unclear for hours before the organisation said she had been traced to the RK Puram police station. AISA had earlier alleged that she was taken to an Anti-Narcotics Task Force facility in Delhi’s South-West district before being moved elsewhere.
Two CJP Leaders Sent to Tihar Jail
The latest action follows the detention of other CJP leaders amid protests in New Delhi.
CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were earlier sent to Tihar Jail for five days over allegations that they violated their peace bonds and trespassed at Jantar Mantar, which was recently denotified as a designated protest site. The detentions have drawn objections from CJP and AISA, which have questioned the police action and demanded access to legal counsel for those in custody.
