Nidhi Tiwari: Indian influencer's death shocks fans

MUMBAI: India media reportedly revealed that Nidhi Tiwari, an Indian influencer who had a combined following of 1.6 million on both Instagram and Facebook, had passed away aged 30 due to a suicide attempt.

The reports claimed that Tiwari, who resides in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh, was found on Saturday hanging at her residence in the Bhusa Mod area.

Meanwhile, family members immediately took her to the hospital for recovery, but the doctors there declared her dead, and authorities have launched an inquiry into the situation surrounding her death.

However, Tiwari amassed approximately 900,000 followers on Facebook and around 700,000 on Instagram, which makes her a widely recognized social media influencer from the region of Vindhya, as some of her posts collected millions of views and received thousands of reactions on a daily basis.

Following the Miss Pretty India title victory in 2024, she became more famous across the globe. While she was seeking to make an incredible career in acting and modeling, the milestone surprisingly boosted her profile beyond Singrauli.

Local reports further added that Tiwari had been seeking opportunities via events, content creation, and modelling to fulfill her aims of making a way into the showbiz industry, which is reflected in her interest in fashion and entertainment in her social media posts.

Local media was informed by her family that Tiwari was on a phone call with someone on Saturday prior to the influencer’s death.

However, police have warned against making assumptions about what caused her death and stated that the circumstances leading up to it are still being looked into.

In an effort to determine the circumstances surrounding her death, investigators are looking through her call logs, digital activity, and other data.

According to Dr. Gyanendra Singh, the head of the Morwa police station, officials were collecting information from Tiwari’s family, friends, and other relevant parties.

As the inquiry went forward, a clearer image was anticipated, the police predicted.

After Tiwari’s passing, social media users expressed their sorrow by posting condolences and tributes. Many recalled her ascent from Singrauli to a larger audience and her attempts to make a name for herself in entertainment and modeling.

Her passing has also garnered special notice in her hometown, where she was well-known on social media due to her sizable online fan base.
