FIA and Customs officials raid at BOL TV office
2 min readKARACHI: After the arrest of Shoaib Shaikh, the owner of the BOL TV and Axact Group, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), local police and the customs officials have raided the BOL TV office here on Monday evening.
According to the initial news, the FIA team has raided the BOL office located at Korangi industrial area while the staff of the Bol TV has come out from the office, the media sources said.
The TV staff said that the police and customs officers were also present there and are searching the office.
The customs officials are demanding the administration of BOL TV to produce data and documents of 2015, the media officers said.
A session court in Islamabad had also extended two days’ remand of Shoaib Shaikh to the FIA custody for further interrogation. The Axact and BOL TV chief is charged with bribing a session’s judge for his acquittal in the fake degrees case.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Axact and BOL TV CEO on Thursday from the Islamabad airport on charges of bribing a former session’s judge for his acquittal in the fake degrees case. Shoaib Shaikh was arrested shortly after he landed in Islamabad on a flight from Karachi.
The BOL TV chief executive is charged with bribing Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Pervez-ul-Qadir Memon to get a favourable verdict in the Axact fake degrees case.
In 2017, the ADSJ had admitted before the Islamabad High Court that he had received Rs 5 million to acquit the Axact CEO.
