One of the oldest Universities in India, Jamia Millia Islamia recently completed the digitisation of around 2,230 rare books and manuscripts.
The digitised books include around 80 copies of handwritten Quran in different calligraphic styles, a 13th-century book by the first Muslim medical scientist Abu Ali Sina, 18th century translated versions of the Mahabharata and Padmavat in Persian and Urdu, etc.
After this digitisation, the university may receive financial aid to set up its own digitisation and conservation unit for archives.
