Men impersonating as cops arrested in Karachi
1 min readKARACHI: Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested two persons who used to impersonate as police officers and loot citizens in the metropolis.
According to police, one of the held impostors was clad in police uniform while the other was wearing civilian dress.
The two were arrested during a raid in the city’s Ibrahim Hyderi area and fake identity cards, weapon and motorcycle recovered from their possession.
A police official said the accused used to loot motorists by intercepting them on the pretext of checking. A case has been registered against them.
Earlier, the police had arrested a suspect, who was looting citizens by presenting himself as an officer in Karachi.
According to the SP Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Azam, a suspect was taken into custody over his alleged involvement in fraudulent activities by showing himself as an officer of the LEAs and Adviser to CM Sindh.
“Azam grabbed million of rupees by issuing fake job orders to a score of people in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Excise, Education and other departments,” the SSP said.
He said the suspect was using a vehicle of rent a car for his law breaking activities and a score of fake government number plates, cards and other stuff has been confiscated from his possession.
