KARACHI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor Sunday said the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches would also be held in Miranshah and Muzaffarabad in coming years, a private TV channel said.

“I have talked to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani about construction of cricket stadiums in Miranshah and other cities,” Major General Asif Ghafoor said while talking to journalists at National Stadium media box during final of the PSL in Karachi. Miranshah town is the administrative headquarters of North Waziristan district.

No one could stop PSL matches from happening in Pakistan, he said adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan too had said that the next PSL would also be held in Pakistan.

The DG ISPR said the PSL matches would be held in Muzaffarabad (Kashmir) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well.

Lauding the efforts and sacrifices of the security forces, he said the way the security forces had worked, it could not be reversed. Eulogizing the role of media in promotion of sports in Pakistan, he said it was a collective effort to make the event successful.

“All the nation along the security forces have given sacrifices,” he said.

Congratulating the whole nation on successful staging of the PSL matches in Karachi, Major General Asif Ghafoor said, “Karachi was host of the PSL final last year and is host this year as well.”
