PM turns down proposed oil prices’ hike

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday rejected proposal of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to increase prices of petroleum products all over the country.

To provide relief to the people, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected OGRA’s proposed increase in petroleum products, PM office said in a statement.

OGRA had proposed an increase of Rs 14.07 per litre in petrol, Rs 13.61 per litre in high-speed diesel, Rs 10.79 per litre in kerosene and Rs 7.43 per litre in light diesel.

In the interest of public welfare, the Prime Minister did not approve the proposal to increase petroleum products. Prime Minister said that the government will go to any lengths to provide relief to the people.
