FIA’s directors asked to finish AML cases in 90 days

KARACHI:  The Director FIA Sindh Zone-II Mohammad Younus Chandio directed for speedy disposal of related enquiries and Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) cases pending for more than three months without fail.

The Director stressed upon the circle head to review all the enquiries and investigations of cases minutely at circle level and submit reports on monthly basis to his office.

FIA Zonal Director Chandio also directed the officers to keep transparency and merit in enquiries and investigations, this he said while presiding meeting to review the progress of the Zonal Board held at FIA Office on Tuesday at Karachi. 

FIA Director Chandio said that the efforts were being made to ensure maximum transparency while conducting enquiries and investigations of different cases. He said that the raids and traps are being conducted and fresh enquiries are also being initiated by the FIA Crime and Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) Circles Sukkur of Sindh Zone-II. 

He further said that the permission for registration of cases were granted, the approvals for submission of final challans were reviewed and allowed.

FIA Director said that the some enquiries were referred towards head of the departments for departmental actions, if any illegality and irregularity were found at their end; the same would be reported for legal actions as per law.

The Zonal Director directed the Circle Head and all the IOs to reduce the old pendency, 2019, 2020 without fail.
