Stockbrokers’ Association to compensate Rs 2.5m to each martyred

KARACHI:  Pakistan Stockbrokers’ Association (PSA), management of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Stock Brokers and Investors would compensate minimum Rs 2.5 million to each martyred, who sacrificed their lives to protect the PSX building during an exchange of fire with terrorists here on Monday.

He said each policeman and security guard martyred in today’s exchange of firing would be paid minimum Rs 2.5 million and such an amount could be enhanced but not less than it.

This was announced by prominent stock broker Aqeel Karim Dhedhi in an audio message here today. He said, “Such an amount would be paid to the martyred policemen and security guards in next 24 to 48 hours. Meanwhile, a cash reward would also be given to other security guards deputed at PSX building who fought with terrorists and failed nefarious design of the culprits for making PSX’s building hostage.”

He further stated that he would recommend the management of PSX to enhance salaries of security guard to Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 so that they can further perform their duties with more dedications.

He informed that President of Pakistan Arif Alvi has also assured him in this regard.

Earlier, in the audio message, he lauded efforts of policemen, security guards and other law enforcement agencies, who foiled the attack on Stock Exchange building in just 12 minutes time by scarifying their lives.

He further claimed this amount would not be as compensation to the martyred and injured security guards but it is their right.

Four armed terrorists attempted to enter Pakistan Stock Exchange premises on Monday’s morning at about 10:02am. The attackers were stopped from entering the premises of the Exchange by the security forces including guards, police, and Rangers. In the exchange of fire, all the terrorists were killed.

Two security personnel were injured while three personnel including two private security guards and one ASI lost their lives in the line of duty.
