CHANDIGARH: Three people were killed and 10 injured in a blast at Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar on Sunday morning.

The blast occurred at a congregation of the Nirankari, a spiritual organisation, in Adliwal village of Amritsar, said deputy commissioner, Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, adding that three people were killed and several injured.

IG border range Surinderpal Singh Parmar said 10 people have been injured in the blast.

The injured have been admitted in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital and Ivy Hospital in Amritsar, police said, adding that they are investigating the blast.

The Nirankari followers were sitting in the congregation when two-bike borne men with their faces covered entered the premises and threw a grenade at them, said eyewitnesses.

Rajesh, who was the part of the congregation, said the two attackers also had an assault rifle and entered the Nirankari Dera on gunpoint.
