Misbah-ul-Haq won’t lead franchise as captain in PSL-4: sources

LAHORE: Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq will not be part of the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Sources close to the matter said Misbah, who captained the two-time PSL champions Islamabad United, will not lead the franchise in 2019.

According to sources, rumours are circulating that franchise wants to offer Misbah an official role with them.

Islamabad United reportedly wants to bring the former Pakistan captain onboard as a mentor for the team, the sources added.

The sources also informed that Tauseef Ahmed will no longer be part of the coaching staff, while former off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is likely to be added to the coaching staff.

The fourth edition of PSL will begin on February 14, 2019.
